Numerous chromosomal deletions have been detected in bladder cancer. Genomic studies have shown that the most frequently deleted chromosomal regions in bladder cancer are 2q, 4q, 5q, 6q, 8p, 9p, 9q, 11p, 11q and 13q, and the most frequently over-represented are 1q, 3p, 5p, 6p, 8q, 17q, and 20q.
